Can you put wallpaper in a bathroom with a shower?
Even though we said to be careful with walls that get too wet, we don't mean to tell you not to use wallpaper in bathrooms with a shower. Instead, just choose the best wall for the situation. For example, as long as you don't put it in constant contact with water, such as the shower stall, you can take advantage of the wall and decorate it with the most beautiful pattern. Now that we've clarified that, let's go to the second step:
2. Cleaning: how to prepare the wall for installation
After you have chosen the best wall for your wallpaper, let's prepare it for installation, so first, remove everything on the wall, such as switches, towel bars, and so on. After that, start cleaning! Start by rubbing a microfiber cloth with isopropyl alcohol on the wall to get all the dirt off the wall and find all the imperfections. Then cover the flaws with the suitable material and make the wall as smooth as possible for a good result. You can also come to check our bathroom wallpaper ideas here.
3. Start wallpapering
Place the wallpaper on the floor, face down. Begin by vertically placing the wallpaper to the top corner of the wall. It should never be used horizontally. Next, pull the liner down 6" and cut it so you can start applying it. Pull another 6" slowly, going from the center outwards with a squeegee to gently but firmly press wallpaper to the wall. If the bubbles and creases persist, carefully pull it back and reapply the section.
4. Make it match: how to wallpaper well
Repeat the preceding instructions with the remaining panels after installing the first one. Make sure your design matches theirs. To exactly match each panel, you should expect up to 1/2" of overlap. Consider that the pattern is repeated every 24". To avoid deforming the boards, be careful not to apply too much pressure or stretch them.
Continue to apply it carefully and patiently, peeling it back as needed and aligning it to perfection. You can also check out some more information about wallpapering your bathroom here. Now it's almost done, let's check the last step:
